The Changing Face Of A New Breed Of Action Hero

Philadelphia, PA - Jillian "The Jaguar" Bullock has blood trailing down her mouth and her ribs could possibly be broken, but she won't know that until she is finished directing a scene from her movie entitled "Spirit." In the film, Bullock, who is the writer, director, and producer, also has a role as a CIA operative. Undercover as a boxer, she is in the squared circle with real life professional boxing champion Frankie Nunzes, who is unbeknownst to Bullock's character, a CIA operative gone bad. Once the action begins, Nunez, starring in his first film, forgets this is "just a movie," and bangs away at Bullock's frame. Bullock was smart enough to begin training in boxing a year before filming began or she might have truly ended up with more than a cracked rib, a busted lip and a black eye.

Now that Spirit has wrapped, Bullock has no regrets about the blood, bruises and broken bones she endured by doing her own stunts. This is her way of making her mark as the first and only ‘real' female action director and actor. Bullock looks at some of the actors who Hollywood deems bankable action heroes, e.g. Vin Diesel, Wesley Snipes, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tom Cruise and she is fighting to see her name on the big screen with them. Bullock may not be a household name yet, but watch out. This sleek, sexy athlete/filmmaker has Hollywood's powers-that-be finally taking notice, especially after one magazine editor called her the future "John Woo of Philly…Just Sexier."

As an award winning, independent filmmaker, Bullock writes about strong female characters who can swing from perilous ropes like Vin Diesel, kick ass like Jet Li, and handle a gun like Tom Cruise, all the while still looking feminine and sexy. In other words, she fashions her female characters after herself.

Along with being a filmmaker and an upcoming author, Bullock, who has been practicing various forms of martial arts for 20 years and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, is also a wrestler (she trained for the film with former 3 time WWE tag team champion Afa "The Wild Samoan," who is the uncle of wrestling superstar and actor The Rock). As a boxer, Bullock will turn pro later this year.

To be an asset in Hollywood, to move up the ranks, to compete with the ‘big boys,' Bullock trains just as diligently as her male peers, including weightlifting three times a week. Her physical conditioning allows her to perform her own stunts and she can handle guns just as confidently as the male actors. This last skill she learned from her white, stepfather who was a member of the Italian Mafia and her stint in the Army.
"I not only act, direct, produce and write, but I can also choreograph fight scenes," Bullock states. "Also, by being in shape, it helps me have more endurance on the set, which can be as long as 14-16 hours a day, 6 days a week. As a director, I'm the first person on the set and the last one to leave. And I still have to find time to train."

Currently, Bullock is working on a short documentary entitled "The Making Of A Champion."
